Compassion is the bases of the Healing Circle Improv Group at Benedictine Hospital in Kingston.
Founded 14 years ago by Barbara Sarah as an extension of the hospital's oncology unit, the group consists of a handful of women, all cancer survivors, who meet twice a month to visit patients in the hospital or their home. Although they don't act out scenes in a traditional theater sense. Barbara Sarah said, they improvise their reaction to the stories of the patients and include them in the activity.
For West Hurley resident Barbara Kalleberg, the group decided to form a circle around her in the hospital waiting room and sing a song about hope. Kalleberg had been sitting vigil at the bedside of her now late husband, Kal who was a cancer patient in the hospital, and the groups support was exactly what she needed at the time.
They were very kind and supportive and they had good advice, loving touches and kind words. It was very uplifting for me at that point in my life with so much going on. It put the focus on me for a little while. she said.
Healing Circle member PHYLLIS HAGOPIAN of Kingston said intuition plays a large part in what transpires between the group and other individuals.
A male patient was in so much pain during one of their visits he couldn't bring himself to even hold her hand. I started talking to him a little bit and said, "What is on your mind, Pete? BASEBALL? and he just lit right up like a light bulb. He started talking about baseball like he was right there, and all of a sudden we started singing "TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME. It was such an improv thing that it blew our own minds, and he started singing with us and came out of the total depression that he was in that caused him pain."HAGOPIAN said. " When you bring someone into their center and are uplifted, it's a total transference- you feel the same way. (This was highlighted in a box on the page.) also.

Life is a Joke

Spring is here I think? It is fluctuating highs and lows. Pretty much like our planet events lately. There is an metamorphosis going on for sure. I am sure we all feel it emotionally through our being. Myself, I am releasing all the toxins through one manner or another. Only one contention . From Gorgeous to 3 stooges like. One has to laugh cause there is nothing else it can possibly be there for. I never thought of myself as beautiful and always made fun of me. I guess I should have thought better, cause now I can honestly say I was. This time the laughs on me. And yes life is a joke. We continue to create a seriousness about it.

There is an Energy splendor that has not gone away. Only now I understand it better. Sure Love is there bonded and cured from another time space. It has it all to do with spirit. We came together to support the flame for life and motivation. All the rest of it was for our spiritual growth. Creating change for the good within ourselves. I have certainly seen how it has made you all a better person. As for myself, well no one is ever sure of oneself. I have dismounted from my high horse that is for sure. I have surrendered to the highest and just grateful for all my Blessings. Seeing you, always inspires me to give it my best.
When the energy is raised to a higher level in each others presence. This is true friendship eternally lite.

Telling Tales Inside

How small my life has become. Cannot seem to think out of the box. I am doing my best. With each morning comes the thoughts of regret and fear of the unknown. Yet within minutes I can let them go and release them from my mind. This tells me I may not have lost my power of existence. That purpose is buried where laughter is hidden. Random Thoughts

Thoughts of defeat slip in and bring me down. Haven't been really up since all this happened again. Really programed this time. I managed to keep them all away from me for a good long time. Never thought I would get it back. More radiation, oral chemo no no.
I feel 100% better since i took epsom salt bath this morning. Ready to help others today.

Body Blue

My body is aching and legs joints are painful. This winter inside is playing havoc with me. Lack of exercise and movement. Perhaps I should decide and get on with it. This waiting has not helped I am sure. Although, being alkalined may have helped. My body feels old and brused. It could be the snow clouds that are coming in starting today and for the whole week. The dampness getting in my bones. who shall hold me and make it better? My own qigong mind breath.

The Human Heart is on Fire

Times are here and we are witnessing the Tragic results. Mother Earth rebelling or merely stretching and flexing her muscles. Hundreds of Thousands of human lives taken from this Earth Plain all at once. Are these the signs of the times? We are helpless before this. There is no support and protection from natural events. The changes of consciousness must take place if we are to survive. Peace is promised. All the madness and the figuring of how to fix it and gain from it, is over. We are forced to share with other nations and other peoples of the world. For this is our true nature.

Looking but not seeing

If we look for something particular won't we find it? If we look to find nothing doesn't that create nothing also. We are the co-creators, perhaps we sow the fields with beliefs and visuals leaving only a field full of weeds. When we know the grass is greener in our imagination, why don't we use it? Our society is changing and we have not caught up with it. Instead we are caught in a net of creative webs of illusion creating more and more dis-ease. Getting more and more involved in the sample details of specimens and pieces of what we think is dominate possession to empower our medical healers. I ask for guidance for Health and Energy is mine. Giving in Grace and Truth. Amen.
