Dancers
"Great dancers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion." Martha Graham "Dance like no one is watching". That is what we did last night. Marilyn, Carol, Ujjala and me. "I Woke up chuckling about the serious look on Carol's face". haha. I wonder if anyone took pictures. If my mother and her friends can do it. So can we in 2007. It is all about the dancing. A night to remember.

Senior Prom Sept. 28 2007
I went to the Senior Prom on Friday. Sponsored by Benedictine Hospital. Coordinator Ujjala Schwartz. Although once again without dates. What is very appealing is, A 15 piece band, food and a wonderful bunch of women from our Smart Bells Class. It was really a blast from way back past. Like World War II. Great food, great company. Ujj got them to play Jailhouse Rock. I danced slow dances and fast. haha. Carol and I did a slow dance. Marilyn and I, laughed so hard we were holding our stomach afterwards. Carol was very serious about it. She loves to dance at all costs. There was Marilyn and Carol sad about not making King and Queen. We danced slow alone at times. We jammed harder then the band did. But we did not care. I think we wore them out with our requests. Carol and I did a waltz. haha. A jitter bug to "In the mood." Ujjala and I did the polka which I could not finish, carol took over. haha. Marilyn, Carol and I finished off the night with a choirs line for "New York, New York. We definately made it a night to remember. Wild and Crazy Women. Thank you God! "Let the Good Times Roll." We will all be walking funny tomorrow but oh tonight it was worth it.

Biking and Celebrating Life
It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. We were given T-shirts, water bottles, numbers to pin on our backs. Plenty of food. There was Me, Sarah, Felicia, Diana, Jean and Yvonne, from oncology support and Mr.Dee and his family were there. Music from Wolf radio DJ's. We had a great time. With a police escort. It was so much easier then when Barbara Sarah and I rode the 5 miles the day before. The cars did not have to dodge around us. haha. We had Cheering sections along the way. Young men and women involved, was very uplifting. Of course, I made them aware while climbing the hills, "NO GEARS GIRLS" while pointing to my bike. haha. Sarah Urech spoke for us as she received a prize for the most money collected from oncology support. Also Jean our new Social Worker won a ski weekend. We had our photos taken unexpected. Diana, Yvonne and I, while standing around talking about genetic testing. We will be in the Kingston Times. Then after plenty of food. Diana and I wanted to go exploring to look for the rail trail. We found one. While riding on it, I said, "The ties are still in this trail..haha. "I don't think this is it." We finally found one behind Super 8..I left her to explore on her own. My feet were cramping and I was in pain from riding the railroad tracks. haha photo by Maro

Caruso's lyrics
Here are some of the words to Caruso's "Te voglio bene" in his Clown's make-up
A painted tear on his cheek. In his famous opera. click on Pavarotti's caruso to hear the song. The song is way to long to give the total English translation.
Te voglio bene assaima tanto tanto bene saie' una catena ormaiche scioglie il sangue dint'e vene sai... English
I love you very much, very, very much, you know, it is a chain by now that melts the blood inside the veins, you know…
Potenza della liricadove ogni dramma e' un falsoche con un po' di trucco e con la mimicapuoi diventare un altroMa due occhi che ti guardanocosì vicini e veriti fanno scordare le paroleconfondono i pensieri. English he sings
The power of opera, where every drama is a hoax; with a little make-up and with mime, you can become someone else. But two eyes that look at you, so close and real, make you forget the words, confuse your thoughts...

Sandra Lynn Twemlow-Johnston
July 22, 1943 - June 26, 200I opened the red box today. The reality came in a sudden burst of emotion. I kept it at bay as long as I could. But there it was, "What Is It All? is what I viewed. So much of this is Sandy, this phrase I read.
What is it all, when all is told
This constant striving for fame or gold.
The fleeting joys, the bitter tears,
We are only here a few short years,
Nothing our own but silent past,
Loving or hating, nothing can last!
What is it all but a passing through,
A cross for me a cross for you.
Our burden seems heavy,
While others seem light
But God in the end, makes all things right!
He tempers the wind with such loving care,
He knows the burdens each can bear,
Then He changes life's gray
into heavenly gold
Ah! That is all, when all is told!

Quotes
Streams of Might shadows the streams of Light.
We may not get along. We may not see eye to eye on most things. Still there is something unseen before me.
To be proper is to be rigid. To be free is to relax. How does one balance the two? Exit right.
What are dreams made of? Like snow balls and cotton candy they melt in your mouth. Could be the moment is enough.

Omega Institute

What a great day for Healing, Relaxing and Laughter. Cool breezes by the Lake was the highlight for me. What a view I had. I kept it all to myself, except Barbara with eyes closed, wanted a blow by blow discription. There he was sitting by the edge of the Lake. Kept getting up and sitting down. And drying off. Then suddenly he stood up and wrapped a towel around his waist and began taking off his bathing suit underneath the towel. He turned around towards us as he begin to put his long pants on. Didn't you know the towel opened a bit, oh yes! I got a peek. haha..As he headed up from the Lake across the lawn, our eyes met and I said to him "Thank You". haha..He had this big grin on his face. I really love making men feel good. haha.

Hare Krishna by Steve Perry
In response to the Secret: on this page cursor down.
I am Sure you know this already: "What we admire in others is nothing but a projection of the parts we have "lost" by repressing them. What we envy or hate - it's just the same".
Its Krishna's birthday today. Could be a very good day to celebrate by going within to encounter some of them. Whatever we may fear, they're all good to meet, because they are all a part of us, and we have been less whole without them. They're sure to be much less grouchy for finally being acknowledged. The chance to talk with us. They have had to wait most of a lifetime. For being able to tell us, after so long banished to the wilderness, their truths and their journey - and ours! How we managed to loose them. And why?
Yep, that is bound to help them feel good. No wonder they have been a bit troublesome, having been treated like that!
So here's to wholeness and self-acceptance to mark this special day.
Hare Krishna!

Holiday Date

Weekend with Big Lou. Painted hands on shirts. I will probably frame. Finding a feather by the doorway between two trees in the backyard near the imagined circle, where we will sit and tell stories some day. Bopping to Elvis. "I like this music grandma". Laughing so hard while practicing his flash cards. Yelling WOO WOO at the top of our lungs, while sitting in the front of the boat getting splashed by the waves. Watching a huge crab getting saved. Lou looking out for me so I don't step on rusted debre. Huffing and Puffing on the Sand dune hike. Soccer on the ocean shore. Digging in and feeling our toes in the sand. Breathing in the salt air. Hearing his words gently upon my ear, "I love you Grandma". The best date I ever had. Big Lou really knows how to show a girl a good time. Thank you my Love, my Life. Oh yeah, Perry and Laurel were there too. haha. Thank you for the great Holiday.

The Secret
is a voice that speaks to us in the silence, of unknown realities. Where energy produces emotion as it penetrates the surface and then becomes misunderstood. Our oneness is not what it seems. Our refusal to be in the face of our most intimate moments. The secret gets lost. The layers build up and cover an opportunity to find understanding that is hidden. Thoughts bring, "Use your mentality, Wake up to reality". But only the heart can understand. Can we trust a foolish heart. Hardly.

1963 was a very good year too.

Summer of 46 or is it 64 not sure, is all most over. Although 1964 was a mighty good year. My mortality is showing. I have finally caught up with my honey. We are the same age now. He was right that I would catch up to him some day. Empty space no one in this place. Only old memories and that pleases my old dreamy dreams. So what do I have to lose? Anything Goes!

Sleepless and Beige

To many thoughts running through my head tonight. Like a swirling world wind of unresolved issues lurking and watching and nudging my mind. Of dentists taking short cuts. Of tech's rushing. Of youth's impatience and total lack of compassion. To busy defending themselves, like some soldier at the gate, believing the castle is theirs. Or that a patient is out to get them. As you can guess I had a bad day yesterday. Qigong added a piece of movement and frustration. There was so much more. But then there was Nemo. Full of everything that is right. Free from restrains and light relaxed moments. Laughter through eyeing the fortune cookie wrong. Simple, true and complete. Thanks for the comedy relief. But like it said, wait till you get home. How can a fortune cookie be right? Or is it the power of suggestion? From my mind to the crown in my hand. hmmm?

Mystery Whistle
I am up, now what? It's 3 o'clock in the morning. I have nothing to say. So I am counting on you to reveal what it is that will ease my restless self once again from this silent empty place.
The whistle of the trains are constant tonight. Perhaps it will stop once I recognize the message it brings. It grows louder now as I write. Perhaps I am right. "Hello, I am here". The sweetest words is my delight. "Lock the door". It was open. I guess I can sleep now. "Good Night!

A far away vision locks my heart in distant falling leaves of Autumn care. A voice comes to me and says, "go away the branches are bare and old. Pray for Dawn
I stood before dawn this morning. Waiting for the Light. Without patience in my plight. I retreated instead to prayerful womb. There I swept and praised the temple moon, oh Goddess gaze upon my loved ones in masked delight. For only you can guide them right. I did the best I could what else must I do but to live humbley in these volumes of past contrite. The Dawn has come and found me and it has eased the darkest night.

If all who see themselves as a physical body and no more would, instead, give more thought to seeing themselves as an ever-brightening star that resides inside the body, then, very soon, everyone in your world would be shining their lights--just as all of the Elders who have walked your Earth have done. Memory Lane
The Motor City was rockin. Chevy's were sharp, clean and "cool man cool". Candy Apple Red or Canary Yellow were the coolest colors to have. The cars were great for necking or like they use to say, watching the submarine races, at the end of Kerchival, by the St. Clair River. One of my many jobs was carhop. I made .25 cent an hour plus tips. Take home at the end of the night was $20.00. The last song of the evening was can you remember? "Good Night My Love". 12 o'clock midnight. We all went home after the music stopped. The name of the Drive Inn was "Cupid's Drive Inn". In those days there were more guys than girls. It was just like the movie, "American Graffiti". Cruisin all the drive Inn's. Looking for loving. Those were the days my friend. 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, etc.Wednesday, August 8, 2007
Something in the Air

Pulled my bike out of the closest to take a ride to the store this morning. The Air was full of sweet smells of soaked Mother Earth. I flipped back to when I was 8 years old. A whole crew of us kids, boys and girls from the neighborhood decided to ride our bikes to an abandoned construction site on Jefferson Ave. Detroit, Michigan, down by the St. Clair River. The ride seemed forever. Then upon arriving there, a thunderous rain storm poured down on us. We just stood there looking up at this huge steel construction. We started laughing and within minutes we were ankle deep in mud. We trudged and pushed our bikes heavy under the weight of the thick mud. The trees served as an umbrella till the rain subsided, then back to the street for our ride home. We arrived home late afternoon, my dress covered in mud and soaked through. I remember feeling so Alive from the summer rain and my wondrous, exciting adventure. Whenever I smell the sweet wet Earth It triggers that summer day in 1952. Yes, that little girl is still Alive in me, through a trigger smell. haha. I never told my Mother about my adventure that day. It was a sacred experience in my life. Plus, my Mom would have freaked! Coming home full of dirt with ties hanging from my dress was a normal occurrence. What a stimulating ride this morning. Sweet Smells of Mother Earth in the corners of my mind.

In Response to Pope Benedict

– The Pope spoke of the current debate raging between creationism and evolution. He said quote, "This clash is an absurdity because on one hand there is much scientific proof in favour of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such. Our Earth is talking to us and we must listen".

Dream of Sandy

Finally! There she was standing by the sink. I was with someone. Male big presence, who took me to see her. I was told if you lock the door, you can come back. So in a little girls voice, I told her " I would lock the door and that I would come back". Her body snapped forward in a burst of laughter. Just like always when I came up with something unexpected to make her laugh. Thank you, Thank you. My heart feels better. I will keep sending out peace, laughter and Light. My buddy, my friend.

Feeling Chatty
After months and days of grieving and tears of lost loved ones. Jean Marie (cookie), Joanne, Debra, Ronnie, Marty and Sandy. Who left in that order this year. These were my friends and relatives, that I felt loved by. Who knew me better then I knew myself. Who got me. Who I loved and could trust with my most intimate thoughts. I have been so fortunate. So now I am out and I have my blog. A cyberspace into the ethers. My son says "I am a spot on the blog." Where I write my most intimate thoughts to the world at large. Or whoever may come along and view the insides of this simple human being. For, I have learned, how we are all One in this mixed bag of goodies. Surely you will relate to some of it. This human Comedy! With so much sadness comes great walls of Laughter. Trust me. Out of your long loneliness comes circles of human and unseen angels, waiting and saying, "look at me, look at me, I am here, I am here". Awaken! I say. I see you and all that you are and can be, in between naps. haha.
Riding the Rails to Big Lou
Waiting and waiting and waiting for Bamma. Took a car then a train then a cab then another train then another train. There he was waiting with his B Train T-shirt. 6 hours later. Worth every minute of it. I almost got scammed at Penn station. NYC where no one speaks to anyone. A young man wanted me to hold his McDonalds bag. Now how did he know I was a tourist? Just because I looked like a deer in headlights. haha...I told him "No." I have learned to say No! Years of therapy. haha. saved me. I said, "How do I know you're not going to blow me up? I think I put the guy into shock. haha.

Memorial
We gather and grieve in honor of life that was in our life. Do we honor it by grieving or do we just have to grieve? Surely grief is needed to realize the importance of it. Our memories are of Light. Did we know their darkness as our darkness? No. Impossible. It is ours alone and in our aloneness that we find our way through the tears in the present and through the laughter of the past. In the praises of Love is our future. There is more. There is always more. I do not believe it ends here. I remember everything and I will not forget you. I am sorry if I hurt you. Its not too late. How important can it be? It just is. by Phyllis Aliano
